Hoffmann Group 51 INFORMATION RELATING TO SAFETY HARNESSES Before selecting and using personal protective work wear for fall protection (PSAgA), the employer must perform a hazard analysis. The hazard analysis determines which hazards cannot be eliminated or reduced by technical or organisational measures. The personal protective equipment used for fall protection must satisfy the applicable regulations for protection of health and safety. Standards: EN 353-1: Governs the test and certification criteria for safety harnesses that move with the user, including the fixed guide. Amongst other things it defines in technical terms how the vertical rope locking systems and other access protection solutions must be designed. EN 353-2: The standard that specifies the test and certification criteria for safety harnesses that move with the user, including a moving guide. It is a continuation of EN 353-1, using the concept of vertical rope locking systems and other solutions appropriate to working at a height.
