THE APPLICATION SPECIALIST FOR OPTICS Precision for the proper beam path through lenses and lens systems is essential in order to focus the light and achieve the desired luminous intensity. The constant development of optical components in conjunction with modern light sources such as lasers and LEDs high-performance image processing software and the huge increase in storage in computer technology now allow cost-effective technical solutions that were unthinkable a few years ago. Accompanying this development is the growing demand on metrology. Often the first quality testing of optical components such as the lenses diaphragms prisms mirrors of the optical fibers or the light source occurs at an early stage of production. For many years Mahr has been working with the measurement of optical components. The lens measurement is a particular focus. Mahr as a complete supplier of dimensional measurement technology provides both the manufacturers of machining tools for lenses and the lens manufacturers themselves customized solutions from hand tools for use directly on the machine to the accompanying production measurement system MarSurf LD 130 Aspheric. The requirements for optical systems such as zoom lenses lenses for DVD drives and lenses in mobile phone cameras focus on a more compact and cost-effective system design.
